The only commercial airport in Athens.
✈️ Booking Flights
Book whichever flights you want, but heed these warnings:
Always fly in the day before the cruise (or earlier)
Touching down the morning of the cruise means that flight delays or cancelations can cause you to miss the ship! ☠️
Avoid morning flights the day the cruise ends
Flights before 9 AM are not happening. Mid or Late morning flights can work if you get off the ship early.

Monastiraki / Psirri - Historic City Center
A mix of the modern and the ancient, this area is the cultural city center of Athens, with lots of see and do, from historic sites to rooftop bars, with a wide selection of hotels.
It’s on the Blue Metro Line for a direct ride from ATH airport.
Gazi - The Gay Village
A former industrial district transformed into a queer and nightlife hub, you’ll find the most gay bars here, but there aren’t as many hotels to choose from.
Monastiraki is about a 15-minute walk away and it’s also on the Blue Metro Line via Kerameikos station.
Piraeus - The Port City
For those who want minimal hassle, staying closer to the port makes sense, especially if you don’t plan on going out the night before or exploring Athens before the cruise. You’ll be a short ride to the terminal for an easy start to embarkation day.
Like ATH airport and the other neighborhoods mentioned above, Piraeus is also on the Blue Metro Line.
🚕 Getting Around
Athens has a great metro system that will take you to most parts of the city as well as the cruise port. If you have heavy bags or lots of luggage, I recommend a taxi or private car.
